Part all-terrain buggy, part light-aircraft...
the ultimate recreational sports vehicle

SkyQuad : a new world of adventure

With an aggressive design and sporty looks, the Parajet SkyQuad is the next step in the small, but elite segment of radical, lightweight aviation. An adventure-filled mix of all-terrain buggy with thoroughbred aviation
technology aimed at those who seek the
ultimate adrenaline experience.

"RATHER THAN DIMLY RECALLING ADVENTURES OF LONG AGO AS THE ONLY MOMENTS IN WHICH THEY TRULY LIVED, PILOTS HAVE A SENSE OF ADVENTURES YET TO COME"

DESIGN EXTERIOR & INTERIOR

SkyQuad Exterior Design Sketches

Aggressive Exterior

The SkyQuad openly displays its attractive framework with its exoskeleton form suddenly serving aesthetic purposes in addition to their usual function. Thanks to the benefit of lightweight construction and high-strength, low-mass properties the SkyQuad chassis creates an aggressive and sporty look aimed at those who seek the ultimate pursuit of adventure.

SkyQuad Cockpit Design Sketches

Intuative Interior

The cockpit of the SkyQuad uses a design centric approach to create a comfortable, functional environment that is a relaxing and truly great place to be. Devoid of distracting dials, switches and fiddly buttons, the SkyQuad cockpit is an exercise in ergonomic simplicity and satisfying tactility, to give the driver ultimate control whether in the air or on the ground.

DEVELOPMENT PROVING THE FLYING CAR CONCEPT

SkyQuad Prototype 01

2009 - Prototype 01

The original SkyQuad prototype was the answer to the seemingly impossible task of building a practical flying car. Using a heavily modified off-road buggy the SkyQuad team, led by company founder Gilo Cardozo, successfully completed its inaugural flight, an incredible journey from the picturesque surroundings of London to Tombouctou. The 42-day expedition travelled through France, Spain and Morocco, and then across the Sahara by way of Mauritania and Mali, before returning home via Senegal - an intrepid maiden voyage of some 6000km.

SkyQuad Prototype 02

2012 - Prototype 02

With the concept of a flying car proven and through valuable lessons learned, the second SkyQuad prototype represents the shift that was needed to make the true vision a reality. It values less over more; making it more lightweight, improving in-flight dynamics, creating fewer emissions, all while offering more enjoyment. The holistic approach to the design and development resulted not only in the new, more aggressive look, but a more manoeuvrable and dynamic vehicle that combines an adventure-filled mix of driving experience and thoroughbred aviation technology.

PERFORMANCE ECOBOOST DIRECT INJECTION TURBO ENGINE

1.0 ltr EcoBoost Direct Injection Turbo

SkyQuad's advanced 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine uses innovative technologies to deliver petrol engine response and refinement with the better fuel economy and torque performance associated with diesel engines. The compact and powerful new EcoBoost engine boasts 125PS, delivering class-leading petrol engine CO2 emissions of 114g/km and 5.0l/100km (56.5 mpg) fuel economy.

Car Mode

With minimum weight, dynamic handling and peak performance, the SkyQuad is the ideal candidate for demanding terrain and sand dune adventures. The SkyQuad engine's 125PS (92kW) power and 200Nm torque output rivals that of a traditional 1.6-litre petrol engine and has the highest power density of any similar production engine. Thanks to the lightweight chassis the SkyQuad accelerates to 62mph in just 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 115mph.

Flight Mode

The SkyQuad uses the latest reflex paraglider wing technology. Renowned for their extreme pitch and roll stability, the SkyQuad wing inspires confidence while retaining dynamic and responsive control. Once in the air the wing simply absorbs turbulence and provides a safe and comfortable flight. During launching, the SkyQuad's EcoBoost engine gets you quickly off the ground with minimum effort and thanks to its innovative flywheel and pulley design counters engine vibration to deliver refinement without affecting performance, economy or emissions.

In the unlikely event of engine or wing failure the SkyQuad simply floats softly to the ground on its paraglider, or a ballistic reserve chute can be deployed.
